Mauritania’s exports grew by 18% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. According to ANSADE, total trade advanced by 7%.
Europe continues to be the main partner, representing 42% of exports and 46% of imports, with Spain as the main destination, followed by Switzerland and Belgium. Asia is in second place, with 30% of exports and 18% of imports. Africa accounts for 13% of exports and 9% of imports, while the Americas account for 12% of exports and 13% of imports.
Iron is consolidating its position as the main export product, with 32% of the total and a value of approximately 14.8 billion euros, down 3%. It is followed by gold with 31%, valued at around 14.3 billion euros, down 7%. Fisheries occupies the third position, with 27% of the total, equivalent to 12 billion euros, with a volume of 195,741 tons, reflecting an increase of 32%.
