Lancement des opérations aux mines de phosphate de Boffal – Lebeira
In January last year, work began on the Boffal-Liberia phosphate mines and their processing plant. The project is developed by the Mauritanian-Saudian Phosphate Company (Société Mauritaniatano-Saoudienne des Phosphates), with a 20% participation of the Mauritanian State.
It is estimated that the project will produce one million tons of phosphate concentrate per year. The mine will be developed in several phases. According to estimates, the Boffal mine has reserves of more than 166 million tons of raw phosphate, a volume that could be re-evaluated at the hausse depending on the evaluations, thus guaranteeing exploitable resources for three decades.
